This is my favourite book of all time. It covers the story of Ross Ulbricht, his creation of the Silk Road and the FBI hunting after him. This book changed the way I see the world and I even learned how to solve a rubik's cube among many other skills because of this book. I read American Kingpin when I was around 15 years old and homeschooled living between Chicago and Ohio.
I would have never considered finance as a viable career path until I read Going Infinite. This book planted within me the seed of the intersection between finance and engineering. My favourite part of the book was the chapter about Jane Street and how they posed financial problems as if they were math or engineering exercises. I read this book during my senior year of high school, so my finance obsession is a relativley new phenomena.
work in progress, more to come
